Who Is Not Eligible For The JEE Main 2025 Session 2: NTA started the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 registration on February 1, 2025. The last date of registration is February 25, 2025. To successfully complete the JEE Session 2 registration, candidates must know the eligibility criteria and the conditions that make them ineligible for the exam.

Completing the registration process within the specified deadline is essential to receive the JEE admit card and appear for the exam. Candidates who do not fulfil NTA’s age criteria, academic requirements, or other eligibility guidelines may be considered ineligible for the exam. Who is Not Eligible for JEE Main 2025 Session 2

Candidates are allowed to appear for both sessions of JEE Main exam in a year. As the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 results are now out, many candidates are considering applying for Session 2.

To appear for the JEE Main Session 2 exam, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria released by NTA. Here are the guidelines that make candidates ineligible for the JEE Main exam:

Meeting Registration Deadline

To register for JEE Main 2025 Session 2, candidates have been provided with a 25-day window. Those who don’t complete the registration and application fee payment within this period are not eligible to participate in the JEE Main Session 2 exam. 

Mistakes in Application Form

Candidates who enter inaccurate details in JEE Main Session 2 application form, upload mismatched documents, or submit incomplete forms are not considered eligible for the exam. In case of submitting incomplete forms, the candidates will not be provided with the admit card. However, candidates who submit incorrect documents may be allowed to appear for the exam but they may lose candidature during the document verification round.

Submitting Multiple Applications

NTA prohibits multiple applications under the same name, photograph, or personal details. If a candidate submits multiple applications for the JEE Main Session 2 exam, They may be rejected, or their exam result could be withheld. To avoid complications, candidates should ensure they register only once.

JEE Main 2025 Session 2 Eligibility Criteria

Besides knowing the key factors that make candidates ineligible for the JEE Main Session 2 exam, it is essential to understand the eligibility requirements mentioned by NTA.

Here are the important criteria candidates must meet to appear for the JEE Main Session 2 exam 2025:

Registration Process for Session 1 Applicants

Candidates who have already registered for JEE Main 2025 Session 1 should not create a new registration for Session 2. Instead, they must log in using their existing credentials to complete the application form. Registering as a new candidate instead of using the previous details may affect the application status of the candidate.

Payment Requirements for Session 2

After completing the application form, candidates should pay the fee through online gateways. This applies to candidates who previously paid the application fee for the JEE Main Session 1 exam. Failing to complete the fee payment will result in an incomplete application. When paying the fee, candidates must ensure the transaction is successfully processed before the deadline.

Age Limit for JEE Main 2025

There is no upper age restriction for candidates appearing in JEE Main 2025. Students who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination in 2023 and 2024 or are appearing in 2025 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2025 exams.

Educational Qualification for JEE Main 2025

To be eligible for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam, candidates must have passed any one of the following examinations:

  • Class 12 or equivalent examination conducted by a recognised Central/State Board (e.g., CBSE, ICSE, etc.).

  • Final exam of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defense Academy (NDA).

  • Intermediate or Pre-University examination from a recognised Board/University.

  • Any public or private school examination recognised as equivalent to Class 12 by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

  • Senior Secondary School Examination by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects.

  • AICTE-approved Diploma or a diploma from a State Board of Technical Education with a minimum duration of three years.

  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Vocational Examination.

  • Cambridge University High School Certificate Examination or an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma from Geneva.

  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Advanced (A) Level examination from London, Cambridge, or Sri Lanka.

Subject Requirements for JEE Main 2025

JEE Main 2025 consists of three different papers, and candidates must have the required subject combination in the qualifying exam. Provided below are the subjects required for JEE Main Session 2 exams:

  • BTech (Paper 1): Physics and Mathematics (compulsory) + one of Chemistry/Technical Vocational Subject/Biology.

  • BArch (Paper 2A): Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

  • BPlan (Paper 2B): Mathematics (compulsory)

Number of Attempts for JEE Main 2025

Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2022 or earlier or who will appear after 2025 are not eligible for the JEE Main 2025 Session 2 exam. After completing the class 12 exam, candidates are allowed to appear for the JEE Main exam in the next three consecutive years.

Class 12 Marks Requirement

There is no minimum percentage requirement in Class 12 to appear for JEE Main 2025. However, for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs, candidates must score a minimum of 75% marks or get a rank in the top 20 percentile achievers of their respective boards.

Q 3. Can I give JEE Advanced in 2025 if I passed 12th in 2022?

Ans. No, candidates who passed the class 12 exam in 2022 are not eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam in 2025.
