NEET 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Students aiming to take the NEET exam must review the eligibility criteria before applying. The following are the crucial NEET eligibility criteria candidates must fulfil to attempt NEET 2025:

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old when applying for NEET 2025.

  • There is no maximum age limit for taking the NEET exam.

  • General category candidates should qualify for class 12 with subjects like Physics, Biology, and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks. ST, SC, PwD, and OBC category candidates should pass class 12 with at least a 40% aggregate score.

NEET 2025 Exam Application Process

The NEET application process is conducted entirely online. Candidates need to register and complete the application form on the NTA’s official NEET portal. Additionally, candidates must upload the required scanned documents and pay the examination fee to successfully apply for the NEET-UG exam. Candidates who meet the NEET-UG eligibility criteria can proceed with the registration and submit the application form.

After the conclusion of the NEET application process, NTA will open the application correction window. During this time candidates who complete the NEET application process and pay the application fee can make certain changes to the NEET application form.

NEET 2025 Exam Pattern

The NEET 2025 exam is a paper-pencil-based test (PBT) lasting 3 hours and 20 minutes. It consists of 200 MCQs from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. However, candidates need to answer 180 questions according to their preferences. Each question is worth four marks, and for each incorrect answer, there is a negative marking of one mark.

NEET 2025 Exam Admit Card

The NTA issues the NEET admit card for eligible candidates on the official website. Once available, candidates must download their NEET admit card from the official website of NTA. Candidates must remember that they will only be allowed to take the exam if they have a valid NEET admit card and photo ID proof. Candidates are advised to keep a soft copy of their NEET admit card until the completion of the admission process.

NEET 2025 Exam Preparation Tips

Here are some NEET preparation tips to help candidates excel in their exams:

NEET 2025 Exam Answer Key

Following the exam, the NTA will release the provisional answer key and publish scanned copies of each candidate’s OMR Sheets on its official website. In case candidates find any discrepancy in the NEET answer key, they can challenge it by raising objections online. For each challenge, candidates have to pay a non-refundable processing fee of INR 200. If corrections are deemed necessary after review, the answer key is updated accordingly. Further, NTA releases the final answer key and NEET result.

NEET 2025 Exam Result

NTA will likely release the NEET 2025 exam results in July 2025. Candidates can check and download their results from the NTA website using their login credentials, including their roll number and date of birth. The result will be prepared based on the NEET final answer key.

NEET 2025 Exam Cut Off

Following the NEET result announcement, NTA will release the NEET 2025 cut off marks and percentile. The cut off score represents the minimum marks required to qualify for the exam.

  • Qualifying cut off: This denotes the minimum marks needed to pass the exam.
