Seat Allocation Process for CAET 2025

The CAET 2025 seat allocation process is designed to ensure a fair and merit-based distribution of seats. After the release of the CAET 2025 Session 1 result, candidates will be required to fill in their choices online. The seat allocation follows these steps:

  • 20% of the total seats will be allotted to top performers in Session 1.

  • 30% of total seats will be provisionally allotted to the next level of high-performing candidates. These seats are subject to revision after the CAET 2025 Session 2 exam

  • The final seat allocation will be based on:

    • Combined merit list from Session 1 and Session 2.

    • Candidate’s choice of branch and preferences.

  • If a candidate does not receive a seat after Session 1, they can reappear in Session 2 to improve their chances of securing a seat.

Seat Distribution at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi

IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi will offer UG seats to deserving candidates based on their CAET or JEE Advanced scores. The total undergraduate (UG) seats at IIT Delhi - Abu Dhabi will be distributed as follows:

  • One-third of the UG seats will be allocated through JEE Advanced 2025 via the JoSAA portal.

  • Two-thirds of the UG seats will be allocated through CAET 2025 scores for:

    • UAE Nationals

    • Indian Expatriates & International Candidates

Seat Allotment through CAET 2025

50% of available CAET 2025 seats will be allotted to top performers in Session 1. The remaining seats will be assigned based on the final merit list after Session 2. The final seat and branch allocation will be based on the following criteria:

  • Overall ranking within each nationality category.

  • Candidate preferences during the choice-filling process.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission Through CAET 2025

To be eligible for UG admission at IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi through CAET 2025, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Nationality

Eligible candidates include UAE nationals and Indian expatriates & international candidates. Candidates who do not fall into these categories must apply for IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi admissions through JEE Advanced 2025.

Academic Qualifications

Candidates must have at least 75% marks in two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in class 12 exam. Additionally, they must have a minimum of 80% aggregate marks or equivalent score in their Class 12 board examination.

Age Criteria

Candidates should be born on or after October 1, 2000. UAE Nationals may receive a two-year age relaxation as per UAE national policy.

Number of Attempts

To be eligible for IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi UG admission through CAET, candidates must have appeared for Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2024 or 2025. Candidates who appeared in 2023 or earlier are not eligible. However, UAE nationals with one year of compulsory military service can get a one-year relaxation, provided they have a valid certificate.

Prior Admission to IITs

Candidates who were previously admitted to any IIT (whether they continued or withdrew) are not eligible. 

CAET 2025 Session 1 Seat Reservation Policy

The seat reservation policy for CAET 2025 varies based on the admission route. Seats allocated through JEE Advanced 2025 will adhere to the reservation policies set by JoSAA. For admission through JEE Advanced 2025 scores, IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi must comply with the existing regulations for Indian admissions. On the other hand, seats allotted through CAET 2025 will follow the UAE government's policies regarding admissions. These regulations align with the local guidelines for UAE Nationals and international candidates.

The final decision and legal considerations for CAET 2025 admissions are decided by the admission committee. The committee’s verdict will be final for matters related to seat allocation and admission procedures. Additionally, any legal disputes concerning CAET 2025 will be governed by the laws of the Abu Dhabi Global Market. This ensures a clear and structured resolution process within the applicable legal framework.
