NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after medical entrance exams in India, opening doors to undergraduate medical courses across the country. NEET UG 2023 results have been declared on June 13. Given the fierce competition and the limited number of seats available in top medical colleges, aspiring medical students and their families are keen to discover how many students participated in NEET 2023.

Number of Students Attempted NEET 2023

In NEET 2023, a whopping 20,87,462 students registered, including 9,02,936 males, 11,84,513 females, and 13 transgender students. This marked a significant increase from the previous year when 18,72,343 students registered.

Out of these registrations, 20,38,596 students appeared for the exam. This year, 11,45,976 students qualified, a substantial rise from the 7,71,500 qualifiers in the previous year.

The pass percentage for NEET 2023 is 56.21%, showing a notable improvement of 15.5% over 2022. This reflects the dedication of the candidates and the heightened competition in the NEET exam.

What Were the Registration and Participation Numbers for NEET-UG in 2022?

In the NEET-UG 2022 examination, the number of registered male candidates increased to 807,538, with 763,545 candidates appearing for the exam and 429,160 qualifying for admission. In contrast, during NEET-UG 2021, 710,979 male candidates registered, 681,168 appeared for the exam, and 375,260 candidates successfully secured admission to medical colleges.

 

Similarly, the number of registered female candidates in NEET-UG 2022 rose to 1,064,794, with 1,001,015 candidates taking the exam and 563,902 qualifying for admission. In NEET-UG 2021, 903,782 female candidates registered, 863,093 appeared for the exam, and 494,806 candidates secured admission.
